Matters of the Light: Howard Hallis 42 Blacklight Lenticulars
The 42 Neon Fluorescent 3D Lenticular Series are explorations of metaphysical and primordial themes in exuberant dreamtime-like visions. They are printed with a special fluorescent neon ink and these lenticular lenses glow under blacklight and appear to be three dimensional. He has hand drawn the elements of macro and micro cosmos, then fused and woven on the computer into a 3D-like multilayered composite. The phenomenon of the natural world are so elusive and not readily determinable, that we cannot but help see the abstract art in them. It’s often said that truth is stranger than fiction for what we take for granted are part of the incredible phenomenon. Howard Hallis has merged the elements of the micro and macro realm into dancing visions of color and form to glow as blacklight lenticular art.
